Freia Regia Solbær Toddy

Freia is one of Norway's most iconic and beloved chocolate and confectionery brands. Founded in Oslo in 1889, the brand has been a staple of Norwegian culture for over a century. The Regia line specifically caters to warm beverage mixes, including their famous cocoa and this blackcurrant (solbær) toddy, which is a popular drink during Norwegian winter months.

While Freia began as an independent Norwegian company, it was acquired by the Scandinavian conglomerate Marabou in 1993, which was subsequently taken over by Kraft Foods. Today, Freia is a subsidiary of Mondelez International. Despite the global ownership, many core Freia products like Regia Toddy continue to be manufactured at the historic factory in Rodeløkka, Oslo, maintaining its strong Norwegian identity and local production roots.
