Ragusa is a historic Swiss chocolate brand created in 1942 by Camille Bloch. It was born out of a shortage of raw materials like cocoa during World War II, leading Bloch to fill a chocolate shell with a praline mass of ground hazelnuts and whole hazelnuts.
Today, the product is still manufactured by the family-owned company Chocolats Camille Bloch SA in Courtelary, in the Bernese Jura region of Switzerland. Unlike many global brands, Ragusa has remained independent and continues to be managed by the third generation of the Bloch family. It is recognized for its traditional production methods and its iconic status as a premium Swiss chocolate bar.
