Desperados is a globally recognized tequila-flavored beer brand, famous for pioneering the niche category of spirit-flavored lagers. Originally created in 1995 by the French brewery Brasserie Fischer in Schiltigheim, it gained rapid popularity for its unique blend of light lager with tequila citrus notes.

The brand's journey transitioned through major corporate shifts when Brasserie Fischer was acquired by Heineken in 1996. Today, Desperados is a core international premium brand within the Heineken N.V. portfolio. While it maintains its French roots, it is produced in several locations across Europe, including France, Poland, and Spain, to satisfy demand in over 80 countries.

In Romania, Desperados is managed and distributed by Heineken Romania S.A., which operates several local breweries, though the specific tequila-flavored variants may be imported from Heineken's specialized facilities in other EU countries.
