Monasterio de las Viñas is a prominent wine brand originating from the Cariñena region in Spain, which is one of the oldest protected growing areas in the country. The brand is produced by Grandes Vinos y Viñedos S.A., a large cooperative winery founded in 1997 through the merger of several local cooperatives in the Cariñena Denominación de Origen (D.O.).
The wine is crafted using traditional Spanish grape varieties such as Garnacha, Tempranillo, and Cariñena, often blended with Cabernet Sauvignon. The Reserva designation indicates that the wine has undergone a specific aging process, typically at least three years with a minimum of one year in oak barrels. The entire production process, from grape cultivation in the stony soils of the Ebro Valley to bottling, takes place within the Zaragoza province of Spain, maintaining strict quality standards under the regional wine authority.
