The Peugeot 2008 is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by the French manufacturer Peugeot. Originally launched in 2013, the model shown is the second generation which was introduced in 2019. It is built on the Common Modular Platform (CMP), shared with various other models within the Stellantis family. Its manufacturing is centered in Vigo, Spain for European markets and Wuhan, China for the Asian market, reflecting a global supply chain.
Peugeot itself is one of the oldest automotive brands in the world, rooted in a family business founded in 1810 in France. Over the decades, it evolved from producing coffee mills and bicycles to becoming a titan of the French automotive industry. Following a merger in 2021, the brand joined the Stellantis group, one of the world's largest automotive conglomerates, which manages a diverse portfolio of historic brands across the globe from its headquarters in the Netherlands.
