Remia is an iconic Dutch brand that has become a staple in kitchens across the Netherlands and beyond. Founded in 1922 by Arie Horn in his garage in Amersfoort, the company initially started with margarine mixing. Over the decades, it evolved into a powerhouse of condiment production, famously inventing 'Fritessaus' (fries sauce) in 1967 as a lower-fat alternative to traditional mayonnaise.
Today, the brand celebration of '100 Jaar' (100 Years) highlights its long-standing heritage. The product shown, Fritessaus No Sugar, represents the company's modern adaptation to health-conscious consumers. All Remia products are primarily manufactured in their large-scale, automated production facility located in Den Dolder, Netherlands. Despite being a major international player exporting to over 100 countries, Remia remains an independent family-owned business, maintaining its headquarters and core production within its country of origin.
