This image features two iconic staples of the Dutch breakfast table: Calvé Pindakaas (Peanut Butter) and De Ruijter Hagelslag (Chocolate Sprinkles).

Calvé's history dates back to 1883 with the founding of the Nederlandsche Oliefabriek (NOF) in Delft. Following a merger with the French company Calvé in 1898, the brand eventually introduced its famous peanut butter in 1948. While production moved from Delft to Rotterdam in 2008, it remains a quintessential Dutch product under the ownership of the British multinational Unilever.

De Ruijter was founded in 1860 by Cornelis Rutger de Ruijter in Baarn, initially gaining fame for its 'Muisjes' (aniseed sprinkles). It was granted a Royal warrant in 1883. After decades as a family business and later ownership by CSM, the brand was acquired by Heinz in 2001. As of 2026, it is part of the Kraft Heinz portfolio, specifically within the newly structured 'Global Taste Elevation Co.' following the parent company's strategic split. Both products are primarily manufactured in the Netherlands to serve their core Benelux market and international enthusiasts.
