The Lion Choco & Caramel bar is a popular confectionery product that originated with the Lion candy bar, first launched in the United Kingdom in 1976 by Rowntree's. It was designed by Eric Nicoli as a crunchy, chewy alternative to traditional chocolate bars, featuring wafer, caramel, and puffed rice coated in chocolate.
Following the acquisition of Rowntree's by the Swiss multinational Nestlé in 1988, the brand expanded globally and into new formats like breakfast cereals and cereal bars. Today, the manufacturing of these bars takes place in multiple locations across Europe to serve different markets. Nestlé remains the ultimate owner, managing the brand from its global headquarters in Switzerland.
