CeraVe is a skincare brand that originated in the United States in 2005. It was developed by dermatologists with a unique formula containing three essential ceramides and a patented delivery system known as Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) technology.

Initially founded by the company Coria Laboratories, the brand quickly became a staple in the skincare industry due to its focus on restoring the skin's natural barrier. In 2017, the global beauty leader L'Oréal acquired CeraVe along with two other brands for $1.3 billion. Since the acquisition, production has expanded globally. While many products for the North American market are still manufactured in the USA, products sold in Europe and other international markets are frequently produced in France to serve the global distribution network. L'Oréal remains the ultimate owner, managing the brand within its Active Cosmetics division.
