Alexander Keith’s India Pale Ale

Alexander Keith's is one of North America's oldest commercially produced beers, with a legacy dating back to 1820 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Founded by Scottish immigrant Alexander Keith, the brewery became a cornerstone of East Coast Canadian identity. The India Pale Ale (IPA) is its flagship product, known for its smooth profile and historical roots in the Maritimes.

While the brand was founded as an independent family-owned venture, it was eventually acquired by Labatt Brewing Company in 1971. Today, the brand is part of the extensive international portfolio of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), following the 2008 merger and subsequent acquisitions. For the Canadian market, the beer is primarily brewed at the historic Oland Brewery in Halifax and several other Labatt facilities across Canada to ensure national distribution.
