Elite paper products

Elite is a flagship brand of the South American tissue paper industry, primarily focused on hygienic and personal care products. The brand was founded in Chile by Empresas CMPC (Compañía Manufacturera de Papeles y Cartones), a company established in 1920 by Luis Matte Larraín. Over the decades, Elite has become one of the most recognized brands for toilet paper, paper towels, and napkins throughout Latin America.

Manufacturing takes place across multiple countries where the parent company maintains industrial facilities, including Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, and Uruguay. This localized production strategy allows the brand to maintain a dominant market share in the region.

Today, the brand is managed by Softys, the dedicated hygiene and tissue subsidiary of Empresas CMPC. The ultimate ownership remains with Empresas CMPC S.A., which is headquartered in Santiago, Chile. The company is largely controlled by the Matte family, one of Chile's most prominent industrial groups.
