Schweppes Carbonated Soft Drinks

Schweppes is a globally recognized brand of carbonated soft drinks, most famous for its Indian Tonic Water. Founded in 1783 by Johann Jacob Schweppe in Geneva, Switzerland, it was the world’s first beverage company to mass-produce aerated mineral water. The brand later moved its headquarters to London in 1792. Today, the ownership of Schweppes is complex and fragmented by region. In Germany and much of Europe, the brand rights are owned by the Krombacher Group (Schweppes Deutschland GmbH), while in the United States, it is owned by Keurig Dr Pepper. Production usually occurs locally within each region through authorized bottling partners to ensure freshness and reduce logistics costs.
