Monnet Cognac, often referred to as 'The Sunshine in a Glass,' is a historic brand established in 1838. It takes its name from Jean-Gabriel Monnet, who founded the company in the heart of the Cognac region in France. The brand became globally recognized for its quality and its iconic advertising poster featuring a woman dancing with a glass of cognac, created by the artist Leonetto Cappiello.
Today, the brand maintains its commitment to traditional French distillation methods. Every bottle is produced and aged in the Charente region of France, ensuring it adheres to the strict Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) regulations required for cognac.
Ownership of Monnet has changed hands over the decades. It was once part of the Martell group but is currently owned by the Hine Group (EDV SAS). Under this ownership, Monnet continues to focus on premium craft spirits, targeting international markets while maintaining its deep heritage as an authentic French cognac house.
