Tefal is a French cookware and small appliance manufacturer, famous for inventing the non-stick cookware category. The brand name is a portmanteau of the words 'Teflon' and 'Aluminium'. Historically, Tefal pioneered the development of modern pressure cookers and has since expanded into electric multicookers like the one shown in the image.

While Tefal maintains some high-end production facilities in France (notably in Rumilly), the vast majority of its electronic kitchen appliances, including electric pressure cookers and air fryers, are produced in manufacturing hubs in China and other Asian territories to satisfy global demand.

Today, Tefal is a flagship brand of the Groupe SEB, a large French consortium that is a global leader in small domestic equipment. Groupe SEB owns several other well-known brands such as Rowenta, Moulinex, and Krups. The brand maintains its core identity as a French innovator while operating as part of an international corporate structure headquartered in Écully, France.
