BeatBuddy is a pioneering guitar pedal format drum machine designed for live performance and practice. It was developed by Singular Sound, a company founded after a highly successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in late 2013 and early 2014. Unlike traditional drum machines, the BeatBuddy is designed to be controlled hands-free via a foot pedal, allowing musicians to trigger fills, transitions, and outro beats in real-time.

The product was the brainchild of David Packouz, who sought a more intuitive way for solo musicians to incorporate percussion into their performances. While the brand and intellectual property are rooted in the United States, manufacturing is primarily handled in China to manage production costs while maintaining the high build quality required for professional music equipment.

Today, BeatBuddy remains the flagship product of Singular Sound, which continues to operate as an independent entity. The brand has expanded its ecosystem to include MIDI controllers, loopers, and various software tools for musicians, maintaining its position as a leader in the innovative music technology space.
