For many years, the brand remained under the control of the founding Balconi family; however, in 2015, a majority stake was acquired by Valeo Foods, a leading European producer of quality sweets, snacks, and grocery products. Valeo Foods is headquartered in Ireland and is owned by the global investment firm Bain Capital.
