A+D Treat & Heal Cream

A+D (originally Vitamin A & Vitamin D Ointment) is a well-known legacy brand in the baby care and skin protection market, developed for the treatment and prevention of diaper rash and skin irritation.

The brand was originally introduced in the United States by the pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough. Following a series of large-scale pharmaceutical acquisitions, Schering-Plough merged with Merck & Co. in 2009. Later, in 2014, Bayer AG acquired Merck’s consumer health business, which included the A+D brand portfolio.

Today, A+D is managed under Bayer’s Consumer Health division. While the brand originated in the United States, its manufacturing currently takes place in various global facilities, with significant production for the North American market occurring in Canada. The ultimate ownership lies with the German multinational Bayer AG.
