C++ is a high-level, general-purpose programming language originally created by Bjarne Stroustrup at Bell Labs in 1979. It was designed as an extension of the C programming language, incorporating object-oriented features while maintaining the efficiency and low-level capabilities of its predecessor.
Today, the development of C++ is not managed by a single company but by the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG21 committee, a group of international experts. Because it is an open standard, it is 'manufactured' or implemented by various vendors worldwide through compilers such as GCC, Clang, and Microsoft Visual C++.
The language remains one of the most widely used technologies in the world, powering operating systems, game engines, financial systems, and high-performance applications across all continents.
