OCaml programming language

OCaml (Objective Caml) is a general-purpose, industrial-strength programming language with an emphasis on expressive syntax and type safety. It was developed at the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA) in France during the mid-1990s as part of the Caml project.

OCaml is an open-source project managed primarily by INRIA, but it benefits from a global ecosystem of contributors. While the core language is developed in France, its applications and libraries are maintained by developers and organizations worldwide. The OCaml Software Foundation, established in 2018, supports the language's development and promotes its use across various industrial and academic sectors.
