Jolla is a Finnish technology company founded in 2011 by former Nokia employees who worked on the Meego operating system. The brand is best known for its uniquely designed smartphones and the Sailfish OS, which acts as a successor to the abandoned Meego project.
While the hardware assembly was primarily handled in Asia (China) for earlier models, the brand's identity and core software development remain rooted in Finland. Following several financial restructurings, the brand has shifted its focus more toward software licensing and automotive integration within the European market through its parent corporate structure.
