Alnok is a well-known brand of allergy medication in Denmark, containing the active ingredient cetirizine. It was originally developed and marketed by the Danish pharmaceutical company Sandoz (locally as Sandoz A/S).
While the brand has deep roots in the Danish healthcare market as a reliable generic option for hay fever and urticaria, the manufacturing of the tablets occurs across various global pharmaceutical sites under the Sandoz network, often in Europe.
Sandoz was formerly a division of the Swiss multinational Novartis but was spun off into an independent, publicly traded company in October 2023. It is now one of the world's largest producers of generic medicines and biosimilars, maintaining its global headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.
