Aqua bottled mineral water

Aqua is Indonesia's most iconic brand of bottled mineral water. Founded in 1973 by Tirto Utomo under the company PT Golden Mississippi (now PT Aqua Golden Mississippi), the brand revolutionized the beverage industry in Southeast Asia by introduced packaged clean drinking water. The product is sourced from protected mountain springs across various regions in Indonesia, ensuring mountain-fresh quality for the local market.

In 1998, a strategic alliance was formed between Aqua and the French multinational food-products corporation, Danone. This partnership eventually led to Danone becoming the majority shareholder and ultimate owner of the brand. Today, Aqua remains the market leader in Indonesia, managed under Danone's specialized water division, which focuses on sustainable water management and healthy hydration initiatives.
