Starbucks VIA Instant Coffee is a premium instant coffee line developed by Starbucks to replicate the taste of their brewed coffee in a convenient, portable format. Launched in 2009 after years of research, the product uses a proprietary process to micro-grind coffee beans and blend them with high-quality instant coffee.

While the Starbucks brand is synonymous with Seattle, Washington, where it was founded in 1971, the VIA product line is manufactured in various facilities globally to meet regional demand. Common production sites include the United States and specialized facilities in Southeast Asia.

In a significant strategic move in 2018, Starbucks entered into a 'Global Coffee Alliance' with Nestlé. Under this agreement, Nestlé holds the perpetual rights to market, sell, and distribute Starbucks consumer packaged goods and foodservice products—including VIA Instant Coffee—everywhere in the world outside of Starbucks coffee houses. This partnership combines Starbucks' brand power with Nestlé's vast global distribution network.
