NAD Electronics (New Acoustic Dimension) was founded in London, United Kingdom, in 1972 by a group of audio industry veterans led by Marty Borish. The brand gained legendary status in the hi-fi world with the release of the 3020 amplifier, which redefined performance for budget audio equipment. The product shown, the C 320BEE, was designed by the renowned engineer Bjørn Erik Edvardsen, whose initials are featured in the model name.

While the brand has British and European roots in its engineering and design philosophy, it was acquired in 1999 by the Lenbrook Group of Pickering, Ontario, Canada. Since then, the management and global distribution have been based in Canada. Like most modern consumer electronics, manufacturing was shifted to specialized facilities in China to maintain competitive pricing while adhering to the brand's strict audiophile specifications.
