Robin Hood is an iconic Canadian brand with a history dating back to 1909, when it was established as the Moose Jaw Milling Company in Saskatchewan. Known for its distinctive green and red archer emblem, the brand has become a staple in Canadian households, particularly for its flour and oat products.
Today, Robin Hood oats are primarily manufactured in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at a dedicated facility that has been in operation since 1928. While the brand is deeply rooted in Canadian heritage and its production remains local, the ownership has transitioned over the decades through various corporate acquisitions.
Since 2004, the retail consumer brand has been owned by The J.M. Smucker Company, an American food and beverage conglomerate. Interestingly, while Smucker's owns and markets the brand to retail consumers, the actual milling facilities that produce the products were sold to Horizon Milling (a joint venture involving Cargill) in 2006, which now manufactures the goods under contract for the retail market and directly for industrial sectors.
