Aldermore is a specialist UK bank that was established in 2009 to provide financial services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), homeowners, landlords, and individuals. Since its inception, it has focused on underserved market segments, offering savings, mortgages, and business finance solutions. The brand was originally created by financier Phillip Monks with support from private equity funding.

In 2018, the bank was acquired by FirstRand Group, a major financial services provider based in South Africa. This acquisition integrated Aldermore into a larger international financial network while allowing it to maintain its distinct British identity and operations. Today, Aldermore continues to operate primarily within the United Kingdom under the ownership of FirstRand, serving as a key pillar of their global retail and commercial banking strategy.
