Ahava is a renowned Dead Sea mineral skin care brand founded in 1988 by the Kibbutzim of En Gedi, Mitzpe Shalem, and Kalya. The brand's research and development as well as its main manufacturing facilities are located in Mitzpe Shalem, within the Dead Sea region of the West Bank. Ahava is famous for utilizing mineral-rich mud and water from the Dead Sea to create a variety of skincare products ranging from body lotions to facial serums.
Over the years, the brand transitioned from local cooperative ownership to international corporate ownership. In 2016, the brand was acquired by a major Chinese investment conglomerate, marking a significant shift in its global business strategy while maintaining its production and laboratory roots in Israel. As of 2024 and beyond, it remains a key player in the global luxury skincare market under its current ownership.
Today, Ahava operates as a subsidiary of the Fosun Group, benefiting from the parent company's extensive international distribution networks. Despite the change in ownership, the brand continues to emphasize its authentic connection to the Dead Sea minerals and its specialized dermatological research conducted at its Israeli facilities.
