Helnøtt is one of Norway's most beloved chocolate bars, known for its combination of smooth milk chocolate and whole roasted hazelnuts. It was introduced by the iconic Norwegian chocolate manufacturer Freia, which has played a central role in Norwegian food culture since the late 19th century.
While the brand is deeply rooted in Norwegian history and the chocolate is still primarily produced at the historic factory in Rodeløkka, Oslo, the ownership has changed over time. Freia was acquired by the Scandinavian company Marabou in 1990, which was subsequently purchased by Kraft Foods. Today, the brand is owned by Mondelēz International, a global leader in snacks and confectionery.
