Marshall headphones are a global lifestyle audio brand derived from the legendary British guitar amplification company, Marshall Amplification. While the Marshall brand itself was founded in London in 1962 by Jim Marshall, the headphone and consumer audio line was actually developed through a long-term licensing partnership with the Swedish company Zound Industries.
Historically, Marshall Amplification remained a British family business, but in 2023, a significant shift occurred when Zound Industries acquired the Marshall family's shares in Marshall Amplification to form the Marshall Group. This merger consolidated the guitar amps and the consumer audio products under a single Swedish-led entity. The manufacturing of headphones and Bluetooth speakers is primarily outsourced to facilities in China, while the high-end guitar amplifiers continue to be made in the United Kingdom.
