UHU is a globally recognized brand synonymous with adhesives, notably for its 'All Purpose Adhesive' in the distinctive yellow tube and black lettering. The brand's history began in 1932 in Germany, when pharmacist August Fischer developed the first ready-to-use clear synthetic resin adhesive. This invention revolutionized the market by being the first glue capable of bonding almost all known materials at the time.
Today, UHU is managed under the umbrella of Bolton Adhesives. While the brand maintains a strong manufacturing presence in Bühl, Germany, it utilizes a global network for production and distribution to meet international demand. The brand has remained a leader in the adhesive industry by continuously expanding its product line to include glue sticks, tapes, and specialized industrial adhesives.
Since 1994, UHU has been a part of the Bolton Group, an international conglomerate based in Italy. This ownership has allowed UHU to expand its reach further while maintaining its reputation for German engineering and quality in the stationery and DIY sectors.
