Die Gute Schokolade is an ethical and climate-neutral chocolate brand launched by the children and youth initiative Plant-for-the-Planet. Originally founded in Germany by Felix Finkbeiner, the project aimed to create a product where the distributor, manufacturer, and retailers all waive their profits to fund reforestation projects; specifically, for every five bars sold, one tree is planted in Mexico.

While the brand originated in Germany as part of a social movement, the actual manufacturing of the high-quality milk chocolate bars is handled by external partners like the Swiss chocolate manufacturer Chocolat Bernrain AG and Maestrani. This collaboration ensures a high-quality product while maintaining the fair-trade and organic standards central to the brand's mission. The brand remains under the ultimate stewardship of the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation based in Uffing, Germany.
