The 'Junior' series, like the famous TRIPLEX models, became renowned for its windproof design and reliable semi-automatic mechanism.

Historically, IMCO products were manufactured in Austria. The company became an iconic Austrian brand, supplying various militaries and finding global popularity due to its durable and modular design. In 2012, IMCO ceased operations in Austria, and the brand rights were eventually acquired by Windmill Co., Ltd. of Japan in 2013. Today, the brand is owned by Windmill Co., Ltd., which continues to produce IMCO-style lighters, often moving production to facilities in China while maintaining the classic Austrian aesthetic and patent designs.
