Hutson patented the first Oral-B toothbrush. Over the decades, the brand expanded into a comprehensive range of dental health products.

Today, Oral-B is primarily manufactured in multiple locations worldwide, including Germany, the United States, and Mexico, to serve different regional markets. The brand is owned by the American multinational consumer goods corporation Procter & Gamble (P&G). P&G acquired the brand as part of its acquisition of Gillette in 2005.
