Smarties chocolate lentils

Smarties are color-varied sugar-coated chocolate confectionery that first debuted in 1937. Originally produced by H.I. Rowntree & Company in the United Kingdom, they have grown to become one of the most recognizable candy brands globally. The brand is known for its iconic cardboard tube packaging and the 'Only Smarties have the answer' marketing campaign.

In 1988, the brand was acquired by Nestle during their takeover of Rowntree’s. Since then, Nestle has implemented several global initiatives for the brand, including the removal of artificial flavors and colors and a shift toward recyclable paper packaging in 2021 as part of their sustainability goals. While production for the European market is heavily concentrated in Germany, specifically in Hamburg, the brand is manufactured in various facilities worldwide to serve regional markets.
