Cadbury is an iconic British multinational confectionery company with a rich heritage dating back to 1824 when John Cadbury opened a shop in Birmingham, England. Initially known for tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate, the brand evolved to become synonymous with milk chocolate, most notably its famous Dairy Milk range. Today, Cadbury is recognized globally for its distinctive purple packaging and high-quality chocolate products.
While the brand maintains deep roots in the United Kingdom—where its historic Bournville factory still produces millions of bars—its manufacturing footprint is vast. Cadbury products are manufactured in multiple countries including Ireland, Australia, India, and South Africa to meet regional demand. Ownership of the brand shifted significantly in 2010 when it was acquired by the American conglomerate Kraft Foods. Following a corporate spin-off in 2012, Cadbury became part of Mondelez International, which continues to manage the brand as a flagship within its global snack portfolio.
