Kerrygold is an iconic Irish brand known globally for its premium grass-fed butter and dairy products. Established in 1962 by the Irish Dairy Board (now Ornua), the brand was created to market high-quality Irish dairy exports under a single, recognizable identity. The milk used for Kerrygold products is sourced from small family farms across Ireland, where cows graze on lush green pastures for most of the year, giving the butter its signature natural golden yellow color.

Today, Kerrygold is Ireland's most successful food export brand and is the number one imported butter brand in many international markets, including Germany and the United States. Although it has expanded its product line to include cheeses, yogurts, and even cream liqueurs, the core production remains rooted in the traditional dairy farming practices of Ireland.

The brand is owned by Ornua Co-operative Limited, an agri-food cooperative which represents the interests of dairy processors and Irish dairy farmers. This structure ensures that the value created by the global brand is returned to the farming communities that provide the raw milk. Headquartered in Dublin, Ornua operates a large-scale state-of-the-art production and packing facility called Kerrygold Park in County Cork.
