Arc'teryx is a high-end Canadian design company specializing in technical outdoor apparel and equipment. Founded in North Vancouver, Canada, the brand is famous for its logo, which is the Archaeopteryx, the earliest known bird. While the company maintains a significant design and manufacturing facility in Canada (referred to as ARC'One), the majority of its technical garments are produced in specialized factories across several countries, including Vietnam, Myanmar, China, and El Salvador.
Originally founded as Rock Solid in 1989 by David Lane, the company was later renamed Arc'teryx. Over the years, ownership has shifted through major sporting goods conglomerates. In 2005, it was acquired by the Finnish group Amer Sports. In 2019, Amer Sports was acquired by a consortium led by Anta Sports, making the brand a part of one of the largest sportswear groups globally. Today, Arc'teryx is a key luxury-technical brand within the Anta Sports portfolio.
