Vega is a pioneering brand in the plant-based nutrition space, specializing in vegan protein powders, bars, and nutritional supplements. Founded in Canada in 2004 by Brendan Brazier and Charles Chang, the brand was built on the philosophy of clean, plant-based nutrition as a means to fuel performance and overall wellness.

The brand has undergone several ownership changes as the plant-based market expanded. In 2015, Vega was acquired by the American company WhiteWave Foods, which was later acquired by the French multinational Danone in 2017. However, in 2021, Danone sold its Vega business to the private equity firm WM Partners as part of a portfolio optimization strategy.

Currently, Vega products are primarily manufactured in North America, with production facilities located in Canada and the United States. While the brand maintains its Canadian roots, its ultimate ownership sits with WM Partners, an American-based investment firm focused on the health and wellness sector.
