Philips kitchen appliances are emblematic of a long-standing Dutch technology legacy. Originally founded in Eindhoven, Netherlands, in 1891, Philips expanded from lighting into household electronics throughout the 20th century. This specific type of vintage food processor was a staple in European kitchens during the late 20th century.
While the brand originated in the Netherlands, the ownership and manufacturing landscape for Philips Domestic Appliances has shifted. In 2021, Royal Philips sold its Domestic Appliances business to Hillhouse Investment, which now operates the category under the name Versuni. Currently, while design often retains European roots, manufacturing for such appliances is largely centralized in global hubs, primarily China, to serve international markets including Sweden.
