Halo Top launched in 2011 as a pioneer in the low-calorie, high-protein ice cream market. Originally founded by Justin Woolverton under Eden Creamery LLC in Los Angeles, California, the brand quickly became a global phenomenon by offering a 'guilt-free' alternative to traditional ice cream.

In 2019, the brand's international operations were acquired by Wells Enterprises, while the US business remained under separate management for a period before becoming fully integrated into the Wells portfolio. Wells Enterprises itself was then acquired by the Ferrero Group in late 2022. This transition placed Halo Top under the umbrella of one of the world's largest confectionery giants, ensuring its continued distribution through localized production facilities in North America and Europe to meet regional standards and demand.
