Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper

Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) is one of Germany's most influential and largest daily newspapers, headquartered in Munich. Founded in 1945 by Edmund Goldschagg, Franz Josef Schöningh, and August Schwingenstein, it was the first newspaper to receive a license from the American military government in Bavaria following World War II.

The newspaper is published by Süddeutscher Verlag. Since 2008, the majority of the publishing company has been owned by the Südwestdeutsche Medien Holding (SWMH), a prominent German media group headquartered in Stuttgart. The newspaper is primarily printed at its own high-capacity printing facility in Munich-Steinhausen, ensuring regional distribution and high-quality production standards.
