James Martin’s is a historic brand of Scotch whisky that gained significant popularity in Southern Europe, particularly Portugal, during the late 20th century. Named after its founder, the brand was originally developed by James Martin & Co. Ltd., established in Edinburgh in 1878. The 44-year-old expression shown is a rare, premium blended Scotch, often released as a limited edition for collectors and connoisseurs.
While the brand has deep Scottish roots in terms of production and aging, its ownership has transitioned through major global beverage conglomerates. For many years, it was part of the Glenmorangie Company portfolio. Today, the brand is owned by the French luxury goods giant LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), which acquired Glenmorangie in 2004. Despite the French ownership, the product remains strictly produced, aged, and bottled in Scotland to maintain its Scotch Whisky designation.
