Gevalia is a historic coffee brand founded in 1920 in Gävle, Sweden, originally by the company Victor Th. Engwall & Co. The name "Gevalia" is the Latin name for the city of Gävle, reflecting its deep roots in the region.

Over the decades, ownership has shifted significantly through corporate acquisitions. Today, the brand's ownership is split: in the North American market, it is managed by Kraft Heinz, while in the European market (including Sweden), it is part of JDE Peet's (Jacobs Douwe Egberts). JDE Peet's is a Dutch-based global coffee giant primarily owned by the German investment firm JAB Holding Company.

While Gevalia was historically roasted and produced in Gävle, modern production for instant and capsule products often occurs in various facilities across Europe to serve the global and regional market.
