Tibi is a well-known Hungarian chocolate brand that has been a staple of central European confectionery culture since its inception. Originally launched by the Stühmer Frigyes company in 1941, it was named after the founder's grandson, Tibor. The brand quickly became iconic for its smooth texture and various filled and solid chocolate bars.
Following the transition from state-owned enterprises in Hungary, the brand was acquired by the Bonbonetti Group. In 2012, a significant shift in ownership occurred when the Ukrainian confectionery giant Roshen Confectionery Corporation acquired a majority stake in Bonbonetti. While the brand maintains its Hungarian heritage and identity, modern production is conducted under the umbrella of Roshen, often utilizing their large-scale manufacturing facilities in Ukraine.
The ultimate owner, Roshen Confectionery Corporation, is headquartered in Kyiv, Ukraine, and is one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in the world. This ownership structure allows Tibi to distribute its products across Eastern and Central Europe while benefiting from the logistical and production capabilities of a global industry leader.
