Sorriso is one of Brazil's most iconic oral hygiene brands. This specific product is a limited edition version designed to evoke the nostalgia of Kolynos, a legendary toothpaste brand that dominated the Brazilian market for decades. Kolynos was originally an American brand founded by Neal S. Jenkins in 1908. In 1995, Colgate-Palmolive acquired Kolynos globally for $1 billion.

Due to antitrust regulations in Brazil at the time of the acquisition, the Kolynos brand name had to be suspended for several years to maintain market competition. This led to the rapid rise and strengthening of the Sorriso brand as its local successor. Today, Sorriso is a fully integrated brand within the Colgate-Palmolive portfolio.
