Aiwa is a historic brand in the world of consumer electronics, particularly famous for its contribution to audio equipment such as portable cassette players and stereo systems. Founded in Japan in 1951, Aiwa became a household name synonymous with quality audio throughout the late 20th century.

Following a period of financial difficulty, the brand was acquired by Sony Corporation in 2002. However, Sony later discontinued the brand globally around 2006. The rights to the brand name are currently held by different entities in different territories, with Towada Audio in Japan and various licensed companies globally producing products ranging from smart TVs to bluetooth speakers.
