After being operated as a cooperative for decades, it was eventually acquired by CCPR (Central Cooperativa dos Produtores de Leite). In 2017, the brand underwent a major shift when the French multinational Group Lactalis acquired Itambé. Today, it operates as a core brand within the Lactalis Brazil portfolio, benefiting from international distribution networks while maintaining its local manufacturing roots in Brazil.
