Sanex is a well-established personal care brand that was originally founded in Spain in 1984 by the company Laboratorios Sanex. The brand became famous for its focus on skin health, being one of the first to market 'soap-free' bath and shower products. Historically, the brand was owned by the British-Dutch company Unilever for many years until a strategic divestment in 2011.
Following a deal with the European Commission, ownership of the Sanex brand across European and major international markets was transferred to the Colgate-Palmolive Company. Today, Sanex products are produced in various locations globally, often at Colgate-Palmolive's regional specialized personal care plants. The brand remains a leader in the dermo-cosmetic segment, focusing on hypoallergenic formulas that support the skin's natural pH and ecosystem. Manufacturing is primarily concentrated in Europe for the regional markets, including facilities in countries like Italy and Poland.
