Historically, the brand was owned by the British-Dutch company Unilever for many years until a strategic divestment in 2011.

Following a deal with the European Commission, ownership of the Sanex brand across European and major international markets was transferred to the Colgate-Palmolive Company. Today, Sanex products are produced in various locations globally, often at Colgate-Palmolive's regional specialized personal care plants. The brand remains a leader in the dermo-cosmetic segment, focusing on hypoallergenic formulas that support the skin's natural pH and ecosystem.
