Founded in 1991, Lexmark is a pioneer in the printing and imaging industry, originally established as a spin-off from IBM. The brand quickly gained recognition for its high-performance laser printers and enterprise-level imaging technology. Over the decades, Lexmark has evolved from a hardware manufacturer into a global leader in cloud-enabled imaging and IoT solutions, serving customers in more than 170 countries.

In 2016, Lexmark was acquired by a consortium led by Ninestar Corporation of Zhuhai, China. While the brand maintains a strong corporate presence, including its global headquarters and research and development facilities in Lexington, Kentucky, its ultimate ownership resides with Ninestar. The manufacturing of its hardware occurs through a global supply chain, with major assembly operations focused in China and Mexico to serve international markets effectively.
