Bar-le-Duc sparkling mineral water

Bar-le-Duc is a prominent Dutch brand of natural mineral water that has become a staple in the Netherlands since its revival in the early 1980s. Despite its French-sounding name, which is a creative play on 'Baarle-Hertog' (translated as 'Bar-le-Duc' because it sounded more sophisticated), the product is entirely Dutch in origin. The water is sourced from a deep subterranean aquifer located approximately 150 meters beneath the Utrechtse Heuvelrug (Utrecht Ridge). Protected by thick layers of clay, this source provides naturally pure, low-sodium water that is bottled directly at the source in Utrecht.

The brand was originally launched by the Limfa lemonade factory in the 1970s and later acquired by Raak in 1987, moving its primary source and production to its current Utrecht location. Today, the brand is owned by United Soft Drinks, a major independent beverage company based in the Netherlands. Bar-le-Duc is widely recognized for its environmental initiatives; it was a pioneer in the industry by switching to 100% recycled PET (rPET) bottles and utilizing solar energy at its production facility to minimize its carbon footprint.
